Description
Our Most Popular Filter
The 600-Series Filter is the most widely used of the Oberg lineup. Designed to be universal for almost any vehicle application, use for oil, fuel, transmission, or differential fluid. At the ideal size of only 6 inches, these in-line filters can be mounted in various areas for easy access or hidden away for a clean look.
The 6″ Oberg Filter with the 60 Absolute Micron stainless steel screen element is our most popular product. Most often used for oil applications, the 60 micron screen picks up contaminates from any oil.
Our filters are CNC milled from 6061 T-6 aircraft grade aluminum. This allows us to maintain the high quality product used in racing for over 40 years while keeping the weight down. With 28, 60 and 115 absolute micron screens available for the 600 series, you can use our filters from racing applications to marine and agricultural and industrial and everything in between protect your racing vehicle from fuel system to differential. All our 6″ filters are anodized black so they can be used for all types of fluids and applications including marine.
We utilize woven stainless steel screen elements for high particle retention and extended service life. The screen element’s O-ring style surrounds use Viton rubber in our compression molds so all of our screens work, whether you’re running regular gas, alcohol, methanol or diesel. The 60 Absolute Micron screen is fine enough to catch contaminates from oils up to 20w/50w and is a valuable tool in diagnostic and preventative maintenance. For heavier oils and fluids we recommend our 115 Absolute Micron screen. The screens are reusable, after inspecting the particulate on the screen simply wash the screen element, inspect for any damage and if the screen passes inspection, reuse. The screen should be replaced due to deterioration of rubber or if any damage to the mesh has occurred.
The 600 series filters also have multiple screen capabilities. You can purchase a spacer plate and an additional screen separately for maximum protection.
The 600 series with the 60 micron screen has been our most popular, versatile filter for over 40 years. The filter has four -12 O’ring ports, two in the top half of the housing and two in the bottom half of the housing, along with the slim design allow for ease of plumbing. For use with a dry sump, we recommend using a filter with the 60 micron screen element on the pressure side and our 115 micron on the return side.
